Challa bread – 50th day – Pentecost or Shavuot – Continuation
The word Bethlehem means: “House of bread”
John 6:51 says: I am the living bread of life which came down from heaven.
1 Corinthians 15:23 says: but each one in his own order:
Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.
The season of Pentecost was the season when the offering of the first fruit offering, being the two wave loaves offering called “Challa bread” was offered.
One loaf of the bread was representing the Old Testament (being the Jewish nation).
And the second loaf was representing the New Testament, (being the body of Jesus Christ the Messiah).
On this same day of Pentecost, God gave Israel the commandments of his covenant (being the two tablets of His word or commandments).
And He also entered into a covenant of marriage with the nation of Israel on that same day as in Exodus 19:1-8.
Pentecost is a season when the first marriage covenant between a husband (Adam) and his wife (Eve) was sealed, conformed and constituted in the earth. This was also the same season when the Old Testament and the New Testament derived their spiritual essence and unite from.
Pentecost is the season when the Jews in the Old Testament entered into a covenant relation with God. Pentecost is the season when the church of God and the faith in one God which is taught in the New Testament was born for the very first time among the gentiles nations as it is written in Acts 2:1-4.
Today these two loaves of bread (which represents the Old Testament and the New Testament) are still baked and prepared for the Sabbath celebration by the Jewish women.
