There are three types of meat offerings
There were three types of meat offerings that were given to God during the existence of the tabernacle of Moses, the first Temple and the second Temple of the God of Israel.
1: The first meat offering was called the “burnt offering”.
When the children of Israel offered a burnt offering to God, the priest burnt the entire burnt offering on the brazen Altar of fire, ( the whole burnt offering was supposed to be burnt on fire as a sweet smelling aroma for God).
2: The second offering was called the “sin offering”.
The sin offering was given to the priest by those who had committed some kind of sin or trespass against God.
And part of the sin offering was burnt on the brazen Altar, but the rest of the portion of that sin offering was eaten by the priest.
3: The third offering was called the “peace offering”.
When a person gave a peace offering to the Temple (priest), part of that peace offering was burnt on the brazen Altar, the other part of it was eaten by the priest and the third part of it went back to the person who brought the sacrifice.
So that the part of his portion may return back as a token of blessing into his life, family and relatives.
