Body piercing
In the biblical days a man always expressed his love towards his wife by adorning or decorating her with wealth (gold, silver and other valuable garments).
The piecing of ears and the putting on of earrings rings upon ones ear was a sign that revealed that;
the person who is wearing that earring is submitted to his master’s command and will the rest of her life, Deuteronomy 15:16-17.
When a woman enters into marriage covenant with a man, from that time of her wedding to the time when she dies, she belongs to her husband,
so the husband has the responsibility of beatifying her physical and spiritual beauty (buying her earrings, bracelets, golden necklaces, rings, etc…
so that she may appear attractive and beautiful towards her own husband, as in Genesis 24:22-23, 24:30, & 24:53.
Genesis 24:47-48 says…… So I put the nose ring on her nose and the bracelets on her wrists (the lower part of the arm).
And I bowed my head and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of my master’s brother for his son.
Isaiah 61:10 says… As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Some body once asked me; Is it wrong for me as a woman according to the bible to piece my ears?
It is not wrong as long as you do not violate and abuse you body by piecing the parts of your body that are not permitted to be pieced.
For example; piecing you ears must be done to express your physical beauty and not to disfigure your physical nature by making big holes in ones ears as some pagan cultures do and piecing the body parts like private organs, breast, and navel etc.
Remember that your body was given to you by God so that you may treat it like the holy temple where the holy spirit of God dwells and not for abusing and treating as a billboard that attracts unclean spirits through signs of tattoos, and having metal pierced into the different parts of the body.
