Matzah – Unleavened bread – Passover
Did you know that the unleavened bread called Matzah, which is eaten on the Passover, represents exactly what the body of our Lord Yeshua (Jesus Christ) went through, as He was fulfilling obedience towards his Father’s will, From the beginning of His ministry until the time when He was crucified on the cross for all the sins of mankind.
This same bread called Matzah on the Jewish Passover table is also called the bread of faith, also being the bread of healing, that is made of water and wheat. It is prepared in a special way so that it may not rise (kept in a state of humbleness) through the process of baking it.
The Matzah bread is also called “the poor man’s bread”, representing humbleness and brokenness. The state of being low and humble in situations where life would demand to defend itself and revenge it’s way through.
Isaiah writes about Him and says in Isaiah 53:4-5 ; surely He has borne our grief and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken and smitten by God and afflicted, but He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities.
The punishment of our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we were healed (the bread of faith and healing).
Verse 7 says; He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth.
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before it’s shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth (the bread of humbleness, brokeness and humility)
In John 6:35 ; Yeshua,Jesus Christ, our Lord declares who He is when He said: I am the bread of life, meaning, I am that Matzah bread on the Passover table.
When we eat the Matzah bread within this season of Passover, we also claim our healing, faith and humbleness that was accomplished through the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, that took place in this season of Passover.
Oh, I almost forgot to include the best part, this Matzah bread is also striped with marks from baking and pierced with tiny holes, so it is also a picture of the beating that Yeshua (Jesus) our Lord went through.
