Scriptures to read and events that took place in the season of Pentecost
The 1st of 3rd month (Sivan), the 10th of May 2013, we read Exodus 19:1-25 and 20:1-26, because this event also took place in the season of Pentecost.
On the 2nd of Sivan, the 11th of May 2013, Read 1 Corinthians 15:20-50, because it talks about the first fruits, grain offering and the blowing of the shofar trumpet.
All these 3 incidents took place on Pentecost when God came down on mount Sinai, read also 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18.
On the 3rd of Sivan, the 12th of May 2013, we read Romans 8:19-30 and Leviticus 23:15-22.
On the 5th and 6th of Sivan, the 14th and 15th of May 2013, Pentecost, we read the whole book of Ruth, because in this season, we see Ruth who was a gentile princess from the Moabite palace, leaving her old life behind and choosing to follow a Hebrew (Jewish) woman by the name of Naomi.
Through this bold and courageous act, Ruth became the great grandmother of the lineage of King David, from where we get Jesus Christ, our Lord.
We also read out loud Exodus 20:1-17 for all our family members, because Pentecost is the day when the apostles were reciting, speaking, and reading God’s commandments in Exodus 20:1-17 in the upper room as in the book of Acts 2:1-4,
before the Holy Spirit fell upon them like fire and they spoke in different tongues.
1 Corinthians 12:4-29
Also recite, speak out loud Isaiah 11:1-16.
