Sivan – The 3rd month – Continuation
This month falls in May or June.
The 3rd month on the Hebrew (God’s) calendar is called Sivan – continuation.
In this season of Pentecost, which is in the 3rd month of God’s calendar, the body of Christ became a church.
We were also given the Holy Spirit as our helper, comforter and teacher (Acts 2:1-4, John 14:15-17, John 16:8-11).
In this same season God married (covenanted Himself with) the Nation of Israel.
He gave them His commandments on Mount Sinai, as guideline of instructions that became their helper through life, Exodus 19:1-25 and Exodus 20:1-21 and 31:18.
In this season Adam offered his first fruits (His own rib) to God. In return God gave him a wife in marriage as an helper (Gen 2:18-24).
This is also the month when Jesus was born. He was conceived in Mary’s womb, in the 6th month of Elul according to the Hebrew calendar (Luke 1:26-38).
From that time you count 9 months, which is the time of a woman’s pregnancy before giving birth, then you will come to the 3rd month, which is the month of Sivan, also being the season of offering the first fruits.
1 Corinthians 15:23; Jesus (Yeshua), our Lord, is declared to be the first fruits, meaning that His birth was preordained to bring humanity into a marriage covenant with God.
Guess who else was born in this season of Pentecost? .
In this season we read the whole book of Ruth, and Exodus 19:1-25 and Exodus 20:1-17.
