What is the difference between the word of knowledge and prophecy?
The difference between the word of knowledge and prophecy is that,
the word of knowledge is those types of words that are given or delivered into people’s lives when they need some kind of knowledge to be able to fulfill a mission,
do something or find out something, which they have failed to accomplish through their own strength.
Words of knowledge can contain basic knowledge; (the knowledge that someone needs in the world) or spiritual knowledge;
(knowledge that someone needs to be able to fulfil some kind of a spiritual task in his or her spiritual journey).
People go to school, surf the internet, read books, read the bible for the sake of acquiring knowledge.
Revelation 19:10 says;…for the testimony of Jesus Christ is the spirit of prophecy.
But prophecies or prophecy extends beyond the word of knowledge, because knowledge sometimes can function or be accepted in within the limitations of what people considers as common sense to the natural senses or mind,
But when we talk about prophecy, then we have gone beyond natural senses or common sense, and now we have entered into what is called;
God’s mind or will (timing, seasons, purpose, favor, grace, power, identity, prosperity, and reality) being spoken into someone’s life through the words of prophetic utterance.
Revelation 22:7 says; …Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.
Now I do not what you to confuse prophetic words with words of knowledge, because words of knowledge helps someone to know something that he or she needs to know,
but prophecy always confronts someone’s errors, addresses his weaknesses, reaffirms his purpose, unites him or her to God’s perfect will, eliminates confusion, exposes the deception,
and sin that surrounds his environment, brings God’s grace, protection, and favor upon someone’s life, and also rebukes someone’s natural behaviors and plans that are not lining up with God’s perfect will, and that is the reason why the true prophets of God are not so popular among all people.
Hosea 6:5 says; Therefore I have hewn (fashioned, or designed) them by the prophets or prophetic words .
2 Chronicles 20:20 says; …believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.
Remember that it is easy to receive a word of knowledge, that is the reason why we have schools, internet, etc , but words of prophecy can be more precious, because when somebody’s life is messed up, lacking direction, full of debt, sicknesses, confusion, etc,
what that person needs is not knowledge or a word of knowledge, but prophetic enlightenment that will break the yoke, and transform the evil state from evil to good.
Hosea 12: 13 says; By a prophet the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet He preserved them, the word Egypt in Hebrew its translated as Mizraim, which means limitations, boundaries, debt covenants, or the worship of natural knowledge, or the worship of the material world.
